Shoutbox or 'Tweetboard' or?

Alot of communities seem to lack one (imho) important feature .. a shoutbox!

What's more cool than a place to chat instantly on the website? No need to wait for PM's, etc.

A temporary solution is the Tweetboard, which is available in it's alpha development to vbulletin forums, so I took advantage of that fact and used it, however, do you think a proper shoutbox would be better? Though this would take more space on the homepage.

Thoughts?

I don't like the "tweets", but might just because im not familiar with it.
1) Seems that I can't be on both the forum and the tweetbox at the same time (which is almost critical, i think)
2) to post, i need to have a twitter account - which i don't have at the moment, so to post a quick comment I had to register with twitter - which i was to lazy to do, so i never did get something posted..
3) if the forum grows big, i don't think a single tweetbox is enough.. it could be nice with a general shout box and below that, a box for the current channel/top/thread, so multiple users could talk together about the same thing without disturbing other users talking about another thread thing..

I agree with that and I'll change it as the need for it grows.

Perhaps a option for both. With a enable and disable field in the user control pannel? After all what makes a user happier then there choices.
