I've been messing around with it a lot here's what I found:

At the begging I used the default configuration.
This worked ok in places very densely populated with mobs but didn't really get much done in medium to low density places. This is basically because 'TAB' targeting will only get them if they are on camera and close.
To fix this I changed tab to bind to a quickbar slot with a macro in it instead.
The macro was something like this:

/Target [CREATURENAME] (the main creature in the area)
/Automaticselection (if it doesn't find one it just does a normal autoselection)

The good thing about this is that /Target has a longer range AND gets things off camera. The only problem was that for some reason the bot didn't click 1 (pull skill) when I found the target this way straight after. It just stayed targeted for 20secs before it refreshed and then started the pull skill macro.

Something that can easily cause death is being attacked by two things at the same time. You begin attacking mob 1, mob 2 moves too close and then starts attacking you. The bot will kill mob 1 and then loot it and then try to sit down but get hit and stand up and then just stand there until it dies.
To get around this I changed comma to link instead to a macro which looked like this:

/Attack
/Skill Toggle Rest

This works because when you loot the corpse of mob 1 it disappears and you lose your target, when mob 2 attacks you next it autotargets it and then the macro will be triggered which will attack if it has a target or just rest if it doesn't. Of course you will still die if you can't easily take down 2 mobs in a row without healing but this got rid of most of my deaths when farming mobs who were a few levels lower than me.

Usually when you target a mob that you can't reach either because of a wall or something else and the bot just continues to try attacking it until someone else kills it. It's meant to stop attacking after 60 seconds (and in log it says something like stopping attack) and find another target. In this situation you are usually facing a wall and tab probably won't find anything else. What I think would be good would be to change camera angle and then start looking for other stuff (and possibly deselect the current mob if that is possible)

I don't know how easy this idea would be to implement but seeing as the bot already knows the loc of the character it might not be that hard. Allow users to enter some sort of centering location into the bot. This would mean that if the bot can't find anything after a min or so it starts to move towards the this location. ie centering location is at loc (10,10) charcter is at (5,10).
Character cannot find anything for 60 secs so starts centering process.

1) moves forward (bot holds down 'w' key for 3 seconds)
-Tab target
2)if still doesn't find anything
-checks current location
3)If has gotten further away (lets say for simplicity's sake is at location (4,10))
-Holds down 'd' key for 1.5 secs (or whatever turns character 180 degrees around so it will be facing towards (10,10))
-Tab target
4)if still doesn't find anything
-hold down w for 3 secs again.

Rinse repeat. Bot will keep getting closer to centering location unless it manages to tab target an enemy.

If it is possible to know where the bot is facing then that would make it easier. Otherwise all you would need is some knowledge of trigonometry and a lot of time to test and write the code :P.

In the same way you could get the bot out of stuck situations like this:

If location is the same as last location was 5 seconds ago
-Hold down 's' for 3 seconds then turn 40 degrees with 'd' and then 'w' for 3 seconds.
-check again
that should get you out of most times you get stuck.

If it isn't possible to "hold down" a key with your bot then for pressing 'w' you could make it toggle the auto-move thingy in key bindings. As for turning around I don't really know.

Thank you so much for all the info, love it all. I can add movement but presently not a background method and that's why i haven't implemented it yet.

It should be rotating when it fails to attack for 60 seconds, so i'll look into that thanks for reporting and i'll add deselecting via esc. Thanks for both of those.

I have all the math for movement so don't fear.

If i misses anything out of there please come back and tell me.

Not sure if helps but not sure how to make it work. I run Windows Xp pro too.

Also the alpha, when I start the bot just closes. I play on live servers in US. One thing that is different from your picture is that the area around the bot is Green and not the same as the picture you have up.
hello, please verify you are running aion v 1.5.0.10 and playing an official server. Please don't use words like live servers, if you are on an official server because i get easily confused.

The timers were broken in v1.2 alpha so that probably explains your issue, it is fixed in v1.2.0.1 unreleased i'll release soon.

Can't wait for the release but try to make walking as natural as possible because the bot doesnt really look like a bot right now.

Very nice bot so far. Problems I have with 1.2a is it does not use the macro. Will only walk up to target and start swinging on it. But the 1.2 release works perfect.

Thing needed are movement paths and handeling Agro correctly. Other than that thank you for this great bot. For those of us who can't sit infrint of our computers 24/7 like some folks this makes playing the game better.

This is the error that i often get with both versions

but when it does work the most common problem is it not looting, the non alpha (as far as i know) worked quite well, but the alpha has issues that sometimes it tries to attack the dead target instead of looting. maybe if there is a way to force attacks to stop once target is dead

and this is another problem i get often, im going to try it on my laptop later today. This pc runs tri channel memory so i wonder if that has something to do with it.

v1.2.0.1 won't have walking in it that will be a waypoint release which will also likely have a radar.

1.2alpha uses classes...
1.2 release? you mean 1.1.12? or am i confused?

missed the important part the first time.

I build, code, test, and run this bot on windows 7 x64 as well, so it isn't likely that. I have an idea, please private message me your email so i can send you a test build for this issue.

I can not seem to get the classes to work with the alpha build.

Any pointers on using the class function? I hve tried completing the classes but it only brings up tempskill something. Not infrint of my pc ATM but I recall that the alpha was giving me issues functionality wise. Maybe it's because I don't have a class built up and selected.

You have to have a class for it to work presently, i will likely release a class that does the same thing as the original, press 1 and then nothing else as that is just a class with a pull skill pressing 1 and that's it.

Note: Pull skills aren't used in v1.2 alpha.

You can rename all skills after you create them.

This issue is becoming more and more intriguing. The looting hasn't changed and i do force stop attacking when a target dies, meaning that your machine is getting bad memory reads. That's crazy.

Please give me a location to send you the test build i mentioned before i imagine it is all due to base memory offset calculation for x64 but i am not positive. Thanks for reporting this to me.

what's a "background method"?
does it mean something funny other than virtually pressing keys?
If u you get the bot to press an extra key the whenever the bot hadn't found anything for a while then got people to bind that key to toggle "automatic forward" (there is also automatic reverse) in key mappings and then press it again when it found something it wouldn't do anything different than it does now.

but I'm guess in the longer term what would be good is a much more advanced and useful implementation rather than just shuffling forward when it doesn't find something .

I the have windows 7 x64 and I don't have any real problems.
The bot does seem to stop working after a while....like 2 hours or something.I think i remember the log saying something about a thread crash. I'll give you the exact thing it says when it happens next.
